In the presence of the Albanian Prime Minister Hon. Sali Berisha,  of  the Italian Deputy Minister for the Economy Development Hon. Adolfo Urso, of several political authorities and representatives of Italian and Albanian industry and trade  as well as of the major European Operators in the Oil activities, La Petrolifera Italo Albanese Sh.A. (PIA), a PIR Group company, on June 3, 2009 has officially opened the new coastal terminal in the bay of Vlora for the storage of LPG, oil products and other liquid bulk products.

The total investment was 60 million of Euro and it is one of the most important Italian investment in Albania.

The initial storage capacity of the terminal is 61,000 cbm for oil products and 4,400 cbm for LPG.  This compound occupy just a part of the 20 hectares area owned by PIA and future developments have already been studied for the remaining part.
