GNL

We are glad to inform that the Ministry of Economic Development has given the final green light to the project for the realization of a coastal terminal for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) in the port of Ravenna.

The project, developed by PIR Group and Edison in partnership, involves the implementation of a supply chain for the transport of LNG by gas carrier to the storage terminal and the subsequent redelivery onto trucks and barges.

The new storage terminal, which will be the first in Italy to became operational in view of the European directive that from 2021 obliges the use of fuels with low sulfur content, will be constructed on an area of 23,000 square meters, will have two large tanks of 10,000 cubic meters each and will require the employment of 30/40 new units.

Construction work will start in late spring and will require almost three years of work.
